Welcome!

I'm Jessica, a mid-30 something creative, old soul, and mother.

The Meaningful Glow

Here I will share musings on life as I experience it: the raw, the meaningful, the hard bits, and the delights. I love to write about creativity, nature, seasonal rhythms, and because it is a very large part of my life these days - motherhood.

I am madly in love with moments, especially those deemed ordinary. The divine in subtleties, the particles in particulars, and how time threads each together.

Currently I publish:

Creative nonfiction covering whatever may be on my mind. It is likely as polished as I can get it with 3 young children deterring me at every opportunity, but I'm not aiming for perfection in this space; it is purely for the practice of writing regularly and the community along the way.

When you subscribe, my writing will go directly to your inbox, free of charge.

Eventually, I hope to offer extra snippets for paying subscribers.

about Jessica

I grew up in Virginia, spent a few soul changing years in Northern Ireland, and returned home again. My husband, Sean, and I fell in love over our snarky, goofy senses of humor and appreciation of eating. We have 3 boys ages 5, 3, and 1. To say it is delightful chaos sums it up fairly well at the moment.

I love waking up early before my noisy brood to read and write.

Strong coffee, healthy dollop of cream or milk, if you please.

Bread and cheese, always.

Other items of note: Solo walks. Forest meanders. Flasks of hot coffee, tea, or chocolate. Empty notebooks (preferably hard cover for journaling, flexi cover for all the thinking things). A forever overzealous book stack. Flour covered counters. Couch read alouds. Deep conversations preferred. Boots over heels. Cozy over fashion. Fresh air as medicine. The seasons remind and guide me to live in the present.

I am a recently launched audiobook narrator.

Thank you for being here.
